by Terry ini received the bootprint of jehovah on my ass 35 years ago.. i've missed a lot of meetings since that time.
well, i can't say i've emotionally "missed" them!.
while writing my book i had cause to reflect on what my life might have been had i not walked out of a kingdom hall for the last time in 1978.. what if i had gone on attending meetings?.

The Jehovah's Witnesses came to our door, claiming to hold the secrets of family happiness. They told me they had the "one true religion," and had come to save my life. I was a bible student for quite awhile, along with my husband. We decided to discontinue our study, when we started researching the history of the organization and their false prophecies. Since that time, our extended family has been torn into two sides: us and them.
This is not a loving organization. It is all about control and power.
I am relatively new to this site, and would like to take a little survey. Has your family been affected by the Watchtower policies?
You don't have to give any personal details, but would you include yourself here, if you don't mind sharing your story?
I will start.
V.S: I was never baptized, but my children, husband and I are all being shunned by my sister and brother in law, because I decided not to become a JW. My parents also became JWs, so we no longer get everyone to come together as a family. My niece and nephew are being forced into the religion.

The true religion of God, JW's follow Rutherford not Jesus, proof.
by Crazyguy inwhen push come to shove dealing with witnesses or elders one could just say 'i follow christ and not the teaching of rutherford" of course the elders or whom ever your talking to will be shocked and wondering what the hell your talking about because we of course follow christ really?.
jesus; said in john chapter 6, 'one must eat of his flesh in order to have life'.
rutherford; "dont do it, only us anointed sons of god can" .

DD: I agree with your analysis. It is impossible to reach someone who is not ready to hear the truth. I am in a holding pattern, waiting for the time when I will be needed. In the meantime, I am learning about how mind control works, how to reach people, and I am trying to keep up with the current words and warnings coming from the tower.
The time is at hand, indeed! Welcome to the Information Age.
The light has become so bright, it is a spotlight, pointed directly at the Watchtower. We are all standing outside, watching the leadership lashing out like the trapped beast it has become. The Watchtower is big and powerful, but the internet is much bigger.

Oh good! Jehovah has provided us with yet another TIMELINE! Thank you to the loyal brothers who have done all the research and made the conclusions for us. I can't get it to copy here, but do have a question. I have never quite understood how they know Jesus returned in 1914? Did anyone see him? I thought he was supposedly coming back visibly, for all the world to see.

What do you think of the word:"THEOCRACY"
by Rip inwhen i come accross these coined phrase like "theocratic school" i wonder if it really is time to live a theocracy on earth, and it it is not an exageration by gb to make people think they occupy a undisputable place in that theocracy where anybody who challenges them, challenges theos.. is the theocratic attitude on earth christian?
what do you think guys?.

Faithful Witness
Actually, it is defined as God-directed government. I guess the GB was not lying. They ARE appointed! The`oc´ra`cy
n. 1. Government of a state by the immediate direction or administration of God; hence, the exercise of political authority by priests as representing the Deity. 2. The state thus governed, as the Hebrew commonwealth before it became a kingdom. -

Donating to charities discouraged by the WT
by lambsbottom inhi everyone,.
im trying to find articles from the wt and awake that show when the writers are discouraging charity work or giving.
from any books would be good also..

I find the comments about how charities waste money, particularly interesting. I would love to see the financial report of the WTS. How many millions of dollars are they spending, just to keep the child abuse scandals out of the public eye? How much money are the GB members putting into their private bank accounts? Where do they publish an annual report of what they do with all the donations they take in each year?

Are JWs making themselves sick?
by Faithful Witness ini am reading steve hassan's book, freedom of mind.
on page 120, he lists some ways that a cult member will elicit their authentic identity.
1. creating illnesses, such as skin problems, asthma, or allergic reactions, that give the cult member an excuse to sleep or take time off from work.. my mom has had a mysterious rash, creeping and reappearing on her face and body, for months.

My mom has had a mysterious rash, creeping and reappearing on her face and body, for months. The doctors can not figure out the cause or find a good remedy. She has other health problems that flare up under stress, but this one is new for her.
Anyone else have any observations of this type of response? I know the JWs I knew locally, seemed to have many health issues. Many don't have good insurance plans, due to their chosen line of work, so I always chalked their problems up to lack of self-care. Now I see it could have another root cause, or at least an irritating factor to an existing condition.
